It is possible to save money to reach medium- and long-term objectives! To do so, you need to contemplate a good savings plan, as can occur with collective investment funds and even a good retirement. Despite this, not everyone knows what the strategies and steps are to achieve it!

It does not have to be something complicated. In reality, as long as you have your goals established and know what you need and what you do not, you will have something to start with. Below, we will explain what you need to know about this topic.

Savings plan: a good alternative to achieve your objectives

To create a savings plan from scratch, you need to follow certain steps. We present them to you below.

Define goals and establish the timeframe

The first step to create a savings plan is to define the goals. After all, planning to buy a house is not the same as planning to take a trip, open a business or change cars. Each objective will generate a change in the savings structure, so you need to know what your dream is.

But be careful: you may also want to reach a certain amount and then see what to do with that money. That is why having a certain sum of money can also be a goal in itself. Then, you can set the desired time to reach it.

Analyze your budget

As a second step, you will need to establish the time that will determine reaching the savings plan. To do this, you will need to be clear about your budget or your income levels. Based on that, you will know what is the minimum you can save month by month, since that will give you a margin to save afterwards.

So, how to choose how much to save? Well, a good way may be the 50-30-20 method. 50% of your income should cover basic needs, such as taxes, transportation and food. 30% is for non-essential expenses, such as eating in restaurants. Then, 20% is for you to save.

Set priorities

Precisely, if you want to save systematically, you will need to set your priorities. After all, saving means setting aside certain expenses to reach greater objectives. So, the key is that you can evaluate that 30% of secondary expenses and see which are really necessary.

For example, instead of going out to eat at restaurants once a week, you can start by lowering that amount to twice a month. Even, later, you could do it once a month. It is better if it is gradual! That money you do not spend you can add to the savings part, so that your objectives accelerate.

Organize the savings plan

So, you already know how much money you should reach, as well as your current level of income and the projection of savings. You have also discovered what is the desired time in which you would like to reach your objectives. What is next? Well, analyzing and preparing the plan.

This is something key to your plan. For example, if you know you have a salary of $2,500,000 and want to obtain $15,000,000, saving an average of $500,000 monthly, how much time will you need to reach it? A total of 30 months, which results in more than 2 years.

Is this time adequate for you? If it is not, you will have to increase your savings volume, either by increasing your income or reducing your expenses.

Take advantage of technology in your favor

In turn, you will be able to use technology to have good savings goals. For example, you can download "Desafío: 52 semanas de ahorro", for Android and iOS. It is an application that proposes a weekly savings goal that increases in amount over time. The idea is to reach the 52 weeks saving money, cutting unnecessary expenses.

That is not all: you can always take advantage of the FNA as a method for the savings plan, which consists of saving in a year an amount corresponding to your monthly income, which you will establish on your own at a specific date. The main advantages are that you will be able to generate returns, without the need to pay commissions. In addition, the lowest rates in the VIS housing segment are available.

In conclusion, an appropriate savings plan can be spectacular for people who need to reach objectives. Without savings, it will be impossible to obtain some things. Now, if you map it out little by little, rest assured it will be something through which you will start to see how your dreams come true. Do not hesitate to implement your own plan!
