FNA and its Board of Directors freeze interest rates and eliminate the down payment
The decision adopted by the Board of Directors strengthens conditions for access to housing and provides greater stability for Colombian households.
Bogotá, March 31, 2026. The Fondo Nacional del Ahorro, through its Board of Directors, announced the freezing of interest rates through the middle of the year and the elimination of the down payment for the acquisition of social interest housing, in a decision aimed at generating greater stability and real opportunities for Colombian households planning to acquire a home of their own.
This measure reaffirms the commitment to accompany families on their path to home ownership, offering more accessible conditions in a challenging economic context, especially for those seeking solutions in social and priority interest housing (VIS and VIP).
In this sense, the FNA will continue to offer rates starting at UVR + 0, which allows access to installments starting at approximately $320,000, expanding the financing possibilities for households with lower incomes.
Likewise, financing of up to 100% of the property value is maintained, eliminating the requirement of a down payment, one of the main barriers to access housing in Colombia. With this, more young people, workers and families will be able to take the step toward home ownership.
Real solutions for families
Beyond housing purchase, this decision boosts access to comprehensive solutions such as:
Home improvements without mortgage guarantee, which allow homes to be transformed and dignified.
Construction on own lot, making it easier for families to build on their own or family land.
Inclusive financing options, designed to broaden access to housing credit.
With these actions, the FNA advances in its commitment to bringing concrete solutions closer to Colombians, understanding housing as a key factor for quality of life and social development.
A firm step toward equity
The decision adopted by the FNA's Board of Directors reflects an institutional commitment to reduce barriers, broaden opportunities and strengthen financial inclusion, allowing more and more Colombians to turn their savings into a home and their home into a future.
