Required documentation

Note: When there are cases of underage children in the custody of persons other than their parents, a conciliation record before the Instituto Colombiano de Bienestar Familiar, Comisaría de Familia, or a judicial ruling or by competent authority indicating who exercises custody of the minor must be attached.

  • Application form for termination of the Voluntary Savings contract and deposit withdrawal. Original format, duly filled out (in the corresponding fields as applicable), without erasures or amendments, signed and fingerprinted by the identified person submitting the request.

  • ID document (Cédula de ciudadanía, ID card, foreign resident card, or passport with a valid visa). Photocopy of both sides of the deceased financial consumer and of the beneficiaries.

  • Civil Death Registry. Copy of the document issued by a notary's office from the original document.

  • Sworn statement (extrajuicio). Original document — Summary statement by two (2) witnesses (unrelated to the family) with signature and content authentication before a notary, declaring under oath that the applicants are the sole beneficiaries, indicating names, surnames, ID document, and marital status of the member at the time of death.

  • Bank certification and/or authorization for over-the-counter payment. Applies to cases where disbursement is required over the counter or by transfer. Document showing the account number, banking institution, and account holder.

  • Declaration of heirs. Original document authenticated before a notary, by each of the beneficiaries or a single document signed by each of the applicants, in which they agree to make the corresponding compensations should higher-priority heirs come forward.

  • Civil birth registry of the children. Certified copy of the document. For those born before June 15, 1938, an Ecclesiastical Baptism Certificate will be required; for those born afterward, the civil registry.

Required documentation in the event of:

Garnished accounts

Original or photocopy of an official letter (no older than 90 days) issued by a judicial entity or public entity addressed to the FNA containing: case number, full name, type and number of ID document of the defendant member and of the plaintiff, indicating the lifting or modification of the precautionary measure on the individual savings account.

Accounts with external pledge

Original certification (Paz y Salvo) issued by the cooperative or employee fund that expressly requests the RELEASE OF PLEDGE on the savings in favor of the deceased member with their identification.

Mortgage loan and/or education loan from Cesantías Fondo Nacional del Ahorro S.A.

Original certification issued by Fondo Nacional del Ahorro S.A. certifying that the deceased member is fully paid up in all respects.

Remember

  1. 1.
    When submitting the request documents, you must present your original ID document.
  2. 2.
    Fully completing and submitting the documentation will allow your request to be analyzed and processed efficiently and enable a timely and effective response.
  3. 3.
    The issuance date of authenticated documents may not exceed 3 months at the time of submission.
  4. 4.
    In accordance with Circular 58 of 2025 issued by the Superintendencia Financiera de Colombia, when the balance of the deceased member's voluntary savings account exceeds ninety-one million eight hundred thirty-two thousand one hundred seventy pesos ($91,832,170), a ruling or public deed from the succession process will be required for disbursement. Valid from October 1, 2025 to September 30, 2026.
  5. 5.
    Under internal policy, Fondo Nacional del Ahorro S.A. establishes a term of 45 business days to process payment of Cesantías and/or AVC, counted from the day following submission of the request in the system; provided that all requirements set forth in the List of Documents have been fully met. If the request is returned due to non-compliance with requirements, the procedure will be archived; correction and resubmission will reset the timeframes.
  6. 6.
    The FNA does not have payment agreements with 100% digital financial platforms (Nequi, Daviplata, Bancolombia a la mano — 10 digits); verify that the requested account does not correspond to these platforms.

As a result, you will obtain an electronic disbursement to the account indicated on the form.
