What are Cesantías?
They are a social benefit to which every worker with an employment contract is entitled. They are equivalent to one month's salary for each year of service or proportional to the time worked. Cesantías can be used to purchase or remodel housing, for higher education for the worker, their spouse, children, and stepchildren; to purchase shares of public entities, to purchase educational insurance policies, or upon termination of the employment contract.

Partial or final withdrawals have no additional cost.
Public servants under the retroactivity regime retain this right when transferring to Fondo Nacional del Ahorro.
